11-11-10
The Trash Bar
Williamsburg, NY
With Johnny Pacia and the D Train Riders, Radio Barons, Galapagos Now, The Balboans
Our seventh show at Trash, it really feels like our new home, much like Meow Mix did before it closed. Although we didn’t bring many the other bands and their fans were really into us, dancing and cheering the whole way. The set started of on a psychedelic note opening with Woke Up Mixed Up and Nuclear Lipstick. It then morphed into a long country set and closed on a Reggae note with Police and Thieves. We also covered Ring Of Fire and the Stones’ Connection. Big ups for Galapagos Now and The Balboans.
10-28-10
The Mudd Club, Club 57, New Wave Vaudeville Reunion
The Delancey Lounge
NY, NY
With The Sic F*cks, Bush Tetras, Comateens, 3 Teens Kill 4, Richard Lloyd
What and amazing event. It was an honor to play with all these legends of the New York music scene. We played second in the lineup right after the Sic F*cks and before Bush Tetras. Because Walter had played at the Mudd Club back in the day, Crazy Mary acted as his backup band and we played all Walter Steding tunes. You couldn’t even move in the place it was so packed. Fortunately we were very well received. I’ll never forget this one.
10-23-10
VMB
Tarrytown, NY
With Nick’s other band, Alabama LoFi
This was a pre Halloween costume party with the whole band in costume. Charles was a skeleton, the Wizard was a Wizard, Parker a mummy and Walter was something with yellow feathers taped to his face and lipstick. Alf opened with one set and we played two long sets that followed. The playing was tight and we performed something like 27 songs. The crowd was in to it and dancing like usual.
9-3-10
Cin-M-Art Space 17
NY, NY
Although we had a really bad sound system and the bass drum would fall off the stage if the Wizard didn’t lean on it the whole show,
the performance had its moments. We played a lot of songs we haven’t done in a while like Charging With Blinders, Thirsty For Cool and Angel in Disguise
5-21-10
The Trash Bar

Good follow up to the record release party. We added some older material such as Shock Me and She Comes In Waves to the set.

First gig with Parker on keyboards. The Wizard feaked out for no reason. That was fun. The space has a low ceiling do the sound was muddled.
10-01-09
The Trash Bar

With Thursday Night Allstars and Zoze. Maybe the best show of the year. We played really well and the audience was great. They danced the whole show.

Unicity Performing Arts Festival
Salisbury, MD
Beautiful day. outdoor gig. We played on a huge flatbed truck. Nice sound. We met Steve Oppel who took some great pix and video. THe highlight of the trip was when we convinced the Wizard to ride in the Salt and Pepper ride. The operator thought he was Jerry Garcia, and the Wizard didn’t like the fact that he was entering a ride put together the day before by a man who thought he was a guy who died 15 years ago. He got tossed around pretty good and we all had a good laugh.

Midpoint Music Festival
Neon’s
Cincinnati, OH
w/ Jared Mahone, Glinda’s Bubble, The Newbees and Ruetschle. By the time we made it through PA, WV and into Ohio, the ‘Zard had pissed off around a dozen or so people. Crazy Mary would like to apologize to the couple at Haag’s in Shartlesville, and to Matt at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburg, and to the waiter at Shanghai Mama’s in Cincinnati for the ‘Zard’s various faux pas’. ARMAND COMMENTS: What gall! This from a guy (Nick) who walked the streets shouting, ‘Cin-cin-f***king-atti!’ at the top of his lungs. Talk about embarrassing….
09-17-2005
CMJ Festival Showcase
Bowery Poetry Club
w/ Bril, Nicole Paradiso and Contramano. Nick was really pleased with our performance. The Wizard didn’t piss anyone off. We played a new song, NUCLEAR LIPSTICK, which people seemed to like. Didn’t get home until 4:00AM because we stayed for this great band, Contramano, in self-imposed exile from Argentina. As part of the CMJ festivities, Nick got to see the Dandy Warhols at CBGB’s, and, earlier, the Rainbow Quartz showcase. Here’s what we played: INVISIBLE, TELL ME NOW, I’M THIRSTY FOR COOL, VASELINE AND AFROSHEEN, THE RAIN IN MEMPHIS, NUCLEAR LIPSTICK, SHE COMES IN WAVES, MONKEY MAGIC MEDICINE, SHOCK ME, and BURNED.
07-28-2005
Pussycat Lounge
NYC, NY
w/ Rezidu, Kill By Inches, and Black Dawn. The house was one microphone short, but Armand still thinks our vocals hit an all-time high in spite of it. Nick nearly melted on the ‘George Forman Drummer Grill’ [the light show] mounted behind the drummers’ throne.
